The proof is in the horse!

One of the great bugbears about intuition is that those who don’t believe it say that proof is not be found. (Apart from my feeling sorry for them missing out on a wonderful aspect of their innate humanity, I just get tired of their blinkered views.)

However, animals tend not to be deceptive in these areas. Things like placebo affects (which I have written about elsewhere), tend to be ignored by them. If it works, it works. It’s that simple. Unless you go around accusing animals of cheating and lying in their reactions and their health etc.. Surely not!

So, it is with a certain amount of face-pulling at the sceptics that I present the following (culled from this article from New Zealand).

It concerns a chap called Clarrie Woodward who treats horses using (as the paper trillingly puts it) ‘mind power’.

“…Woodward mentally puts energy into horses and people to start their recovery process. Soreness, toxins and viruses are some complaints he treats.”

He uses dowsing rods to find the areas in need of treatment..

” “It picks up everything that isn’t right, all the disorders,” Woodward said yesterday.

He directs his mental energy at the horse’s chakras (the body’s energy areas) to start the healing.”

Horse racing is a very harsh sport on the horses. They are often raced when ill and are frequently strained, or in a poor state of health. That is a side-effect of the vast amounts of money associated with the business (for that is what it is).

However, as Clarrie rightly points out,

“You can’t expect a horse to race if it’s in pain. When a horse is in pain their personality changes.” Woodward said when he first started energy healing, some of his friends rubbished the treatment.

“Convincing people is the biggest problem. Some say it can’t be done.

“Ladies aren’t so sceptical.” West Melton riding instructor Margaret Pickering is impressed by Woodward’s work.

“Every treatment has clearly been beneficial and the horses have shown marked improvement in injury recovery, soundness, behaviour and well-being,” she said.”

Now, it’s the ‘convincing people’ bit I like. Ladies are not so sceptical….big Wow! there. Who’d a thought it? Women trusting it more. But look at that last line. It talks of the horses being better after the treatment. Real physical improvements.

The horses show improvement. It’s worth looking at that again, because it’s important. These horses have never heard of the placebo effect. They only know they feel better. And that is something which can be noticed, remarked upon, and charted by those who work with them.

And that’s where the proof lies. Not in anything else.

Be as sceptical as you wish, but it won’t change the horses’ reactions one bit, because they KNOW it works.

  1. This is so true!!! I practice energetic healing on our showjumping horses all of the time. The horses respond in a very positive manner, often mysteriously changing personalities in the middle of the session.

I also find that if a child comes to my barn for lessons who has behaviour issues, being in constant contact with horses who feel safe, happy and balanced, helps them as well.

  2. Excellent, Wanda! We need to hear more of these sorts of stories so that others can read them. You and I know that this happens all the time, but it is so easily overlooked and ignored by those who prefer to doubt than to re-consider their beliefs.

Thanks for taking the time to post this.
