The merits of an intuitive life…
A rather grand title to this piece, but I think it correct.
I have hinted before in other posts in this blog (in numerous places), about the benefits of intuition and of living intuitively. But, because they were only passing comments, in the most part anyway, I thought I should really try and tie them all together.
Hence this post….
So, what ARE the merits of living intuitively?
I think that perhaps the most important one isĀ that you become more self aware as a direct result of listening to yourself more carefully. This is, to me at least, hugely important. It means that you are no longer the victim of your life. You are, instead, more in control than ever before. You can’t blame others for what goes wrong, because you have to look inside yourself to see what the real message is for you and then you can change it.
And, if you are no longer a victim then you become much better at making better choices, of being a better person.
Another, related, merit, is that you don’t have to take on trust what you are told, by anyone! You can always run it through your intuition and see how it checks out. Does it feel right? Is it a good thing? This means that you are no longer the fodder for advertising or the media in general. You develop discernment. You learn to feel what is right for you and what is not, based solely on your own intuition, your own internal judgment.
Again, living intuitively develops trust in yourself. I have mentioned it time and again in various posts, but it is still true. The more you trust yourself, the easier it is to trust yourself. And with that trust comes strength; an internal strength and awareness that can be relied upon in times of stress.
Intuition is not about the information or the knowledge you gain. That is only the end result. Intuition is about the way you set about getting that end result. It is about who you are and what you do. That makes it it more an internal discipline for your own ends rather than for any external reason. OK, you might have the ability to know which horse to bet onto pay off the mortgage, and good for if you do, but the process of getting there, of refining and honing that skill is the more important aspect of intuition.
Briefly, the merits of an intuitive life are simply stated: it makes you a better person; more self-reliant, more aware, more attuned to the world around you and to yourself.
Surely, that’s a worthy enough goal for everyone?
