The role of the mind in intuition

Of course, one of the biggest problems associated with intuition is what connection does it have with the mind?

Is the mind part of the brain? Is it something else entirely? Where does the intuitive process reside? How does that relate to the brain and to rational processes? Is intuition merely a smaller part of something much bigger, something like the universal mind?

In order to come to grips with intuition, to enable yourself to exploit it and access it more usefully, these are some of the questions you are going to have to come to grips with at some point. Too many people are unwilling to think things through with any degree of completeness or coherence. just because we’re talking about intuition.

The problem with New Age stuff (and New Age thinking) is that many people think that it’s perfectly OK to leave rationality behind, throw out logic and ignore lucidity and replace that all with vague assertions and bland generalities.

The whole point of something like intuition is that the non-rational AS WELL AS the rational aspects of the mind should be harnessed together. Thinking of such knotty problems should be part of the process where the two meet.

So… What are your thoughts on intuition and how it relates to the brain and the mind?
