How to ‘Get’ Intuition
The following article caught my eye… Intuition comes from attention to inner self: South Florida Sun-Sentinel It’s by no means the only one which has this central message, but as it’s here today, it’s worth focusing on.
There are many, many articles, books and general ’stuff’ all of which is aimed at making you more aware of your intuition and the different ways you can access it. You can use tarot cards, crystal balls, dowsing, meditation and so on and so on. There are probably more ‘how to’ books and articles out there than you or I can shake a stick at.
But the one thing which is lacking is highlighted in the end of this article. I quote, “The more spiritually
attuned we become, the greater our ability to understand, interpret and
follow through on the guidance we receive.”
Now that really is something worth thinking about because it is so very important. it’s not good enough just to consult tarot cards and get a nice reading. That’s only part of it. The best thing in life is to live in such a way that we are always in touch with what is going on around us, such that we are able to discern messages and, as that sentence says, understand, interpret and follow through.
The point is that we constantly get messages all the time, every day of our lives. Yet for most of us, we don’t recognize them as such and if we do, we don’t understand what the message is saying. For that small percentage of people who do understand the message, the difficulty then becomes centered on what to do about it.
Most of us are so content doing what we do, following the same routines of life, that the thought of change is, if not terrifying, then probably seriously worrying. Therefore, to hear your intuition is one thing, to follow it is something else.
But that problem lessens when we are able to live our lives a little more freely and openly, more spiritually, if you will. To live spiritually is to live without fear. It is also to live in the moment (the one presupposes the other really). If you have no fear of the future, or of what dangerous ramifications your decision might have, you are more likely to hear your intuition more clearly and more likely to follow it more easily.
That isn’t to say that if you’re not living a spiritual life you are not going be intuitive or you’re not going to listen to and follow it. Obviously not. People do listen, and they do follow it. There are news stories every week about such things. But think of how much better peoples’ lives would be if they really did follow their intuition more carefully and were more aware of it anyway.
If you’re not living a spiritual life right now, it doesn’t mean you are condemned. Not at all. Trying to do it, attempting to live in the moment, without fear, is the key. In the small moments of stillness which such a course of action generates, you will certainly hear your intuition much more clearly than ever before.
All that is required then is to act upon it!
