Yippee for the dowsers!!
Now this is a nice story: (Click on the link to read it all.) Chambersburg Public Opinion - Dowser finds water for Bear Valley
The main point of the story is that a 92 year old man, Lynn Bear, using just a ring on a piece of string, found a water for a local authority that had been banning watering lawns and washing cars for two years. But the very best bit of news is that he identified the spot the first time after the authority had had four failed attempts. Not only that, but he was only 10 feet away from one of the failed wells and his was producing over 1,000 gallons a minute. Not bad for something that skeptics don’t like to admit as working.
The chairman of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (the Bear Valley Joint Authority is the area where it happened) didn’t want to be interviewed. I think I know why, but in case you’re not sure, he is also an ex-science teacher. Hey ho.
I just love these things! Lynn says he doesn’t really know how it works (but then, nobody else does!!). Interesting that the article referred to it as water-smelling (as well as water-witching and dowsing), a term I’ve never heard before.
Oh, and all he uses is that ring on a piece of string.
Go dowsers!!
